A fingerprint is an impression of the friction ridges on all parts of the finger. A friction ridge is a raised portion of the epidermis on the palmar aspect of thumb used for identification of persons.
The Tongue impression is as compitant enough as that of a Thumb impression to identify a person in question ... but impression is not so easy to get as that of a thumb .
